sorry, i want to ask what i can do when i install o8i
8.1.6 on redhat 6.2

it always say that the xlib can't connect to the server
xlib:connection to ":0.0" refused by server
xlib:client is not authorized to connect to the server

so, what the DISPLAY variable i should set, i am installing on a stand alone machine, pls email me for the solution, thank you

Try

export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0 (good idea to put in ~/.profile)

I would do
type startx on console.
type xhost + in the xterm and
then start the installation from the xterm.
