I am having a terrible time setting up a laptop Windows98 client for an Oracle8 server. The install and Net8 setup are fine, but choosing the Oracle ODBC driver from Control Panel-ODBC aborts. I'm using the Oracle 8.0.5.0.0 for NT CD and the trouble system is running Win98 2nd Edition (4.10.2222 A). Installs have gone smoothly on NT Wk 4, Win98 1st Edition, and even Win2000. Any ideas?? i want to connect to the oracle database with java (jdk 1.2.2)
