We are interested in replicating certain tables from an OLTP application to a database on a remote server. We want to replicate the user's transactions. However, we have a purge program that deletes 'expired' data from the master database. We are interested in keeping *all* of the data on the servant (replicated) database. In other words, we do not want the delete transactions from our purge program replicated. These purges are run from a specific id, which might offer a way to isolate them? I do not think using snapshots is an option for us, based on my understanding of them. The only option I see at this point is to use triggers, and to disable them when the purge program runs. Does anyone have any other suggestions they can offer?
