Hi All,

I stoped the TNS listener and Oracle service in my local system but still i am able to connect to the remote server DB using TOAD
??.how this can happen ??

Are you using a TNS connection from Toad, or a Direct/LDAP connection?

Are you sure you've only got one Listener process running?

Your local listener has nothing to do with how you connect remotely. You do not need a listener or Oracle at all to connect to a remote database. All you need is a tnsnames.ora file and a client product.
