Hi,

We have a Win2k3 SP1 server and would like to install Oracle 9i. But we are getting the below error message every time the setup.exe is executed.

"The image file E:\setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine."

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Sounds quite obvious - you have downloaded the wrong installation files.

Go to the Download section of the Oracle Technology Network, locate software that is compatible with your computer and try again.

Our DB administrator said that the current Java is 1.6. We have to install 1.4 and below version to get it installed. Is that correct?

FYI, we are installing Oracle Server 9i.
