Hi,

I'm currenting migrating one application from forms6i to 10g.
I have to add webutil.pll functionality in place of d2kwutil.pll.
I followed all the steps which was given in web_util.pdf which is provided by oracle.

When i'm signing frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar me getting the following,i dont know where it is a error or warning or something else.....

C:\Oracle\v10120\forms\webutil_106\webutil>sign_webutil.bat C:\Oracle\v10120\forms\java\jacob.jar
Generating a self signing certificate for key=webutil2...
keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Key pair not generated, alias <webutil2> already exists.
There were warnings or errors while generating a self signing certificate. Please review them..
Backing up C:\Oracle\v10120\forms\java\jacob.jar as C:\Oracle\v10120\forms\java\jacob.jar.old...
1 file(s) copied.
Signing C:\Oracle\v10120\forms\java\jacob.jar using key=webutil2...
...successfully done.

Now when i try to run any form with webutil it given the following error

oracle.forms.webutil.file.filefunctions bean not found.
client_text_io.fopen will not work.

Please help i have to submit it after two days.

Thanks in advance!!!

Ankur

Did you SUBCLASS the webutil.olb object to your form?

You have to SUBCLASS the webutil.olb

Look here http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/123769/84678/
Look at 1.jpg (Forms Builder)

Are you using the webutil functions in a PRE-FORM or WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE or ON-ERROR triggers?

Please post the JAVA Console readings

You have not gone through the link properly....

Java console should show you readings of FRMWEBUTIL.JAR file loading......

Loading http://us15107554.thp.chevrontexaco.net:8889/forms/java/frmall_jinit.jar from JAR cache
Loading http://us15107554.thp.chevrontexaco.net:8889/forms/java/frmwebutil.jar from JAR cache
.
.
.
.
.
Check you formsweb.cfg file for
archive_jini= frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar

I am sure you dont have these settings.

Thanks alot for your support!!!

I'm migrating from 6i application of forms 10g.
in forms 6i they were using
WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT.READ_INI_FILE('C:\myfiles\pcexec.ini','PCEXEC','EDITOR',FALSE);
if val is null then
val := 'NOTEPAD';
end if;
cmd := rtrim(val)||' '||flnm;
CLIENT_HOST(cmd);

to display file on the screen so that it can be printed.
Now same thing i have to implement with the webutil.
Please guide me.

Thanks
Ankur

I suggest you using this command

Client_Host('cmd /c RunDLL32.EXE shell32.dll,ShellExec_RunDLL C:\myfiles\pcexec.ini');

This will automatically open the file with the program associate in windows. If no program are associate with the file extension it will automatically prompt you to select the application to open it.

Open a dos window and type
RunDLL32.EXE shell32.dll,ShellExec_RunDLL c:\your_file_name.txt

to see if you get any error message.

What version of Windows you using?

If you work in client/server replace client_host command by host and it should work.
If you work with WebForms you need to install webutil library to make it work
