Sorry, the longest interval I have seen between posting and response via Googlegroups is now 14 years, so no new record :-)

We haven't heard from Derek since shortly after that, I think. I won't be surprised if he never reappears (or if he does, I suppose). As far as I remember he never explained what he meant by most things he said.
