Just to nitpick: in OO modeling there is no such thing as an OID, presumably you mean an object reference.

Your fundamental error: this is not a belief at all, it is an *axiom*. In an OO system, when you have a class Ball with a property Color and an instance myBall, when you set the Color of myBall to Blue, *the ball actually turns blue*.
