No problem. In Kieth's solution for string 'bob', even if nothing can be used to mean something:

{ {     {}   {{b}} }
  {    {{}}  {{o}} }
  { {{}{{}}} {{b}} } }

What is the logic behind the third line? Based on the first two lines, it seems it should be:
  { {{{}}} {{b}} } }
