Scope

While social network theory and analysis has been extensively developed

as a subject in Social Science, the emergence and explosion of social networks in the online world in the recent past warrants research of the subject in the online context. Online social networks combine explicit human interactions and implicit behaviors with hypertext content and commerce. Over 200 social networking sites exist and are growing at an amazing rate. The nature of these communities how data is

managed and surfaced provide interesting dimensions for research. Online social networking affords interesting areas of research related to data engineering related to - implicit and explicit social network analysis, data mining and privacy, collaborative filtering, and indexing and search, among other topics. collaborative filtering, and indexing and search, among other topics.

Topics
This workshop would focus on research topics in data engineering as applied to social networking. Papers will be solicited on topics on social networks related to but not limited to

Social network analysis
Clustering and classification techniques Collaborative filtering
Search and indexing
Knowledge management
Social web
Social network infrastructure
Privacy preserving mining
