Well, a good starting place is www.oracle.com/rdb
Oracle bought the rights to Rdb from DEC in 1994. I think they paid $100M for it, and also hired 5,000 DEC employees.
They thought that, in a few years, all the Rdb customers would be migrated over to Oracle RDBMS. They learned otherwise. It was probably a good purchase. Received on Tue Sep 07 2004 - 12:12:00 CDT
