What I would like is more control over the PC. In the two recent cases they weren't my PC, but ones belonging to my relatives.
And in both cases, Norton couldn't get rid of the virus automatically, but there was a manual procedure that involved using regedit. In the course of applying the fixes, I couldn't help but learn a little more than I wanted to about the registry. In the course of that, it struck me that registry entries are semi structured.
The cases involving cookies are from some months ago, and I forget the details.
