Great work by some very well-known researchers, (Luca Cardelli, Erik Meijer, to name a few) but I'm not sure if this is the right newsgroup because it deals more with programming language theory than it is about database theory. Of course the two are heavily connected, so I wouldn't claim it's really off-topic.
