Even programming languages can suffer from the unintended inference.  I've
had to deal with programming environments where



if (a and b) then c


if (b and a) then c



yield identical results,  but one takes hours to complete, and the other
takes a fraction of a second, in most cases.   There are other examples, but
this is sufficient.
