There are relations in mathematics.  These just are not the relations of a relational data language.  These are the relations of a relational calculus or a relational algebra, both kinds of logic.

Here is unorthodox view. I queried Mathworld for "Relation" and fidn't find any. Hence the conclusion: "There is no Relation in math!"
