I am starting to form the opinion that there is no theoretical limit to the incompetence of managers of software projects. Recently I have had requests that Scott Adams wouldn't put in a Dilbert cartoon. One request was to deliver functionality X weeks earlier than we had planned... X was larger than the time from now to the planned delivery date, hence the new delivery date is (or was?) now in the past. Another request was more feasible because it did not require time travel, but it did require the application of quantum computing. I regard myself as up to date on technology but I am not in a position to implement such a system at this time. Received on Thu Nov 06 2003 - 22:39:37 CET
