I'm an independent recruiter based out of NYC. I specialize in Sr. development roles within the financial services industry. I have a client that is located off the first stop on the PATH into Jersey City, NJ . They are the world's leading online trading network for fixed-income securities.
My client has a extremely talented development group, which is mainly comprised of long term VC++ coders. Many of these developers are published technical writers with extremely strong technical acumens. It's really a great place to work, if you love technology.
Senior Developer - Full-time (2 positions)
100-125K base for the Jr. of the two.
140-150K base for the more Sr. role. Total compensation package of 200-230K

Job Description:
The candidate will complement an experienced development team to enhance
client's main electronic trading software. The position demands strong
technical and analytical skills, and a commitment to getting things done in
a highly entrepreneurial environment. You will be part of the core
development team. As such, you should be a team player with good
communications skills. The technical requirements include VC++, NT and SQL.
Knowledge of the fixed income trading markets would be an asset. Experience
with a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree
with a high GPA should be your academic credentials.
Job Requirements:
Expert level (minimum 5-7 years) C++ programming skills. In-depth
understanding and practical experience of the Windows NT/2000 development
environment. In-depth understanding of object-oriented design methodologies
coupled with significant implementation experience. In-depth knowledge of
SQL development. In-depth understanding and practical experience of
implementing and working with a wide range of communications protocols,
including TCP/IP socket programming. Working knowledge of Perl. Experience
of designing and developing multi-threaded applications. Good understanding
of transaction process. Good communication skills. Strong academic
background, preferably BS/MS in Computer Science.
Salary 140-150K base, 200-230K total package.
Sr. Consultant - up to $120/hr.
My client is seeking a dynamic individual to lead the development efforts for our latest web-based trading product. This new offering is an essential component of straight through processing and will have a tremendous impact on the way fixed income products are settled. Required Skills Expert level ASP programming skills including 5-7 years of real commercial development experience. An in-depth understanding of Microsoft server-side technologies including COM, and MTS/COM+. Expert level knowledge of SQL database development and management. Solid XML and XSL experience. Extensive development background in an NT environment. A background, which includes successfully managing the entire development lifecycle of an e-commerce product. The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical professionals. Sound engineering judgment and the ability to lead a team of high- powered developers and technologists. Experience with the Visual Basic programming language. Skills Considered a Plus, but not Required Knowledge of front-end web development. Familiarity with the fixed income markets. Experience with securities clearance and settlement processing.
They want someone to come in and build this system, then help them identify and hire the appropriate individual to support it.
