Seeking references about how to model events in an E-R diagram

Hi,


I have used E-R models in the past for database designs, mainly entities and
their relationships (duh).  I have never used E-R models for events though,
and I'm looking for how-to information and guidance for a new project.  I
have two Entities/Object classes I'm keeping up with "over time", the
objects are changing over their lifetime and I need to capture certain
changes in my database.  Can you suggest a good book or paper that might
shed some light on this?
