InConcept Announces the Release of the February Issue of the JCM

February 8, 2001 - InConcept today announced the release of the February issue of the Journal of Conceptual Modeling (JCM).

Now on its 18th issue, the JCM is an online, free source of information related to conceptual modeling and computer system design. With articles on topics ranging from conceptual data modeling with Object-Role Modeling (ORM) to the Unified Modeling Language (UML), the JCM's distinguished list of industry experts continue to write cutting-edge topics in conceptual modeling.

"It is with great pleasure that I announce the largest JCM issue we have ever published. Dr. Terry Halpin provides us with a meta-model of the Information Engineering approach. Patrick Hallock talks a bit about Natural Language Modeling. Scot Becker discusses object-oriented processes. Daniel Roth returns with more discussion on practical data administration. Dr. Kiran J. Fernandes, Dr. Vinesh H. Raja, and Mark Morley discuss system level testing. Ilia Bider and Dr. Maxim Khomyakov talk about Object Interaction. Toufik Taibi discusses NIAM. And Dr. John Sharp provides us with another analysis problem and last issue's solution. In short... lot's of great stuff that you will want to check out!"

You can read the February issue - and all previous issues - of the JCM free-of-charge online at http://www.inconcept.com/JCM/.

About the Journal of Conceptual Modeling

The Journal of Conceptual Modeling is a free journal dedicated to data modeling, design, and implementation issues. The goal of this publication is to promote communication between professionals, share knowledge, and to educate our readers. The target audience is large: database professionals and developers, end users and business professionals, students and teachers, and anyone else using, developing, or considering development of a database system.

The Journal of Conceptual Modeling is a free publication sponsored and published by InConcept.

About InConcept, Inc.

InConcept is dedicated to excellence in data modeling. Placing an emphasis on the conceptual model using Object-Role Modeling (ORM), InConcept uses this higher level of design as a more suitable approach for review with business-oriented customers, while simultaneously using the logical and physical models, completely derivable from the conceptual model, for review with the technical staff. Modeling a database at the conceptual level significantly reduces design errors -- reducing overall cost -- while using ORM enables the designer and the business user to communicate and capture business rules more readily and easily.

InConcept's capable staff of ORM experts (certified by Dr. Terry Halpin, the founder of modern ORM, and recognized by Visio Corporation) comprise more than 50 years of practical experience using ORM to design data systems.
