how to retrieve a mail message inside PL/SQL

Hi all,
is there any way to retrieve e-mail messages programmatically, using a PL/SQL procedure?
May be a pl/sql wrapper for a Java procedure?

I know I can use utl_smtp to send simple emails, but as far as I know there isn't anything to do the opposite.
