you probably really don't need the DBA role in the development instance, unless you're doing DBA stuff
since Oracle 6, the DBA role probably really should not be used very much -- it's too broad in the privileges it groups together. generally it's a better idea to have some more tailored roles created that match up better with what different developers actually need to be able to do
