Re: Storage Capacity Planning

I will be doing the storage planning for some oracle databases running on unix servers.

Currently my approach :

I am running a daily job to capture the objects size from the dba_segments and summing them up.

Let's say if I take a sample of 2 weeks and based on the transaction rate and come up with a estimated formula, will this projection be accurate?

Hope to hear from people who had performed storage projection before about your expertise.
