Dear everyone,

i have set up 2 databases (1 dedicated, 1 shared) on my oracle server
(win 2000) using the database configuration manager.

if i open OEM in standalone mode on the server and the client, i can see all 2 without any problems. if i try to open OEM connecting via the Oracle Management Server, 1 can only see one database - Orawin
(dedicated).

what is happening here?

if i refresh to discover the node (presuming that a node is just a server with oracle rdbms on it) it fails - "VNI-4033 could not obtain a repository session".

i have created a repository as a separate database on the server
(OEMREP) using the wizard, just accepting all the defaults. i
understand that a repository is a small database that contains metadata about the oracle administrators. does this one repository contain all the info on the admins for both databases or do i need to create a repository for each one?

can i manually fix this up and not use the wizards? if so, which files, and what attributes in the files do i need to change.

also, what is the intelligent agent? what does it do in plain terms? i have oracleorahome92agent running on the server, but not on the client - do i need this? if so how do i get it going because it is not listed in the win 2000 services window, and i cannot start the exe using net start.

please help, i have spent all day going nowhere

regards
