Hi Sybrand - thanks for that. I should also have mentioned that I am new to Java/J2EE and VMS/Alpha :) I don't know the usual methods of connecting to a database from J2EE. I take it then that there is a jdbc driver for Oracle running on VMS/Alpha? Also, what is net8? Do you know of any sites that would give a good overview of this, or where I might get some basic sample code???
