Adding a hidden column to a table and hidden tables in Oracle

Hi All,
Oracle has hidden tables with starting the character '$'. I wonder (if possible) how to:
- create a hidden table or

create a hidden column of a non-hidden table as an Oracle 8i, 9i admin. Thank you in advance. Tolga
