clone base and arhivelogs

I want to have a working copy of my DB (Oracle 7 under SCO). I installed SCO, make a file system like in original server, make user oracle, copy files from /u/app/oracle, /etc/oratab, copy all *.dbf files from last backup, and copy all .arch files from last backup. I tried dbstart and get a message
SVRMGR> ORA-07287: soagdi: unsupported device for log archiving.
