Daniel,
If you were doing a serious evaluation of XPS vs Oracle,
would you __really__ put something out into a newsgroup
such as this?
I would think a serious individual would take the information
presented by various vendors, and ask __THEM__ for rebuttal
to questions, not a newsgroup. I'd be embarrased if my boss
found out where I was getting my information if they found
me over in newsgroups hoping to get answers to questions
about a product our company may or may not buy, when the
right thing to do is ask the vendor(s) and get THEM to give
you a straight answer. The vendor will probably have answers
to each and every question. If I __were__ to post questions
to a newsgroup regarding vendor claims it would be posed a
lot differently, and in a way to get honest answers.
I would also tend to think that people who show up here and
in your favorite newsgroup are usually paid for their advice
and evaluations. Many of the folks here are happy to help,
but this smacks of sheer laziness, or a troll from a marketing
department.
If you want the short answer from me, Oracle has better marketing
thus it will be the right choice hands down. The customer will
feel better, and nobody will blame them for buying something
marketed almost as pervasive as Microsoft.
Thanks,
Tim
