Question: Oracle Web Application Server 3.0 and Oracle 9i Database

A friend of mine is planning to upgrade their Oracle 7.3.4 database to 9i, but he is not sure if this will break his Oracle Web Application Server 3.0.
Can someone please let me know if there are any problems with running Oracle Web Application Server 3.0 with Oracle Database 9i?
I know version 3 is unsupported, but for other reasons it can't be upgraded til later.
