Export/Catalog and MS-Access: ORA-00942

Hello,
I wanted to make use of Oracle 8i's Export utility for backup purposes and found that I needed to run Catalog.sql first. I did that and Export seemed to work fine thereafter. But now when I try to use MS-Access as a front end to Oracle via ODBC, I can select a desired table name to link, but an error "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" occurs. I never had a problem linking a table in this Oracle db from MS-Access before. I know that catalog creates numerous object and perhaps changes privileges. Is there something more specific that someone can suggest?
