Upgrade/Migration from Oracle 7 (.3.4) to 9i

We have an Oracle 7.3.4 (on Sun Solaris) environment with over 50 schemas. We are planning to migrate to Oracle 9i. Can anyone tell me if the migration from 7 to 9 will involve an intermediate migration to 8.x or whether a direct migration from 7 to 9 is possible.

Any help would be appreciated.
