Regarding the hard-coding of these passwords in scripts, there are 2 attitudes you can take:

  1. Just change the passwords, and if any scripts fail, they shouldn't have been using these passwords hard-coded in the first place.
  2. Grep the system for "svrmgrl" or "sqlplus", or "sys", "system" or "internal". This should show up ALL hardcoded passwords that use Oracle, although it will take a while.
