unable to call oracle 9i external procedures from Visual Basic 6

Hello!

somebody can help me out!

iam unable to querry the external procedures(oracle9i) from visual basic6.0..
the error shows the particular procedure('today_date') is not a procedure or undefined..
actually iam able to see the procedure from sql .. iam able to call the externall procedures from sql client.. even though iam able to querry the simple tables from vb6.0.. vb6.0 is using microsoft ODBC driver, which is working fine with the oracle8i..
with the same tool(vB6.0) iam able to call the external procedures on the oracle8i..
so what is the problem..is i need to change the driver. i don't think the problem is with the drivers since iam able to connect from vb6.0 to oracle9i..
please somebody help me..

the error says:

runtime error '-123444 some number
ORA-6550 - line 1, column 7'
PLS -00221 - '<procedure_name> is not a procedure or undefined
