Oracle 8i installation problem

Hi All,
I installed Oracle 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 in Mandrake8 last week. The
universal installer window opened when I ran "runInstaller", But
nothing happened after I select "next" button. No any error message
displayed. I can choose "Deinstall products" and see no any oracle
production in the system. Can anybody help me?
