Win98 Personal Oracle 8i... ORA-00439 : feature not enabled: Managed Standby

Hi,
I am trying to setup archivelog on Personal Oracle 8i on WIN 98.

Did...
1. alter database archivelog;
2. uncommented the archiving parameters in init.ora

Now the instance fails to start with following error...

SVRMGR> startup nomount pfile="c:\oracle\admin\ora816\pfile\init.ora" ORA-00439: feature not enabled: Managed Standby

Created a new database from dbassistant with archivelog option ..... same error comes up.

It works fine if the archiving parameters are commented out.

An article on Oracle's website/doc states that the feature is available in Personal Oracle 8i but did not confirm about WIN 98.

Is auto-archiving not available on WIN 98 or I missed some configuration or installation option ???
