Help Oracle 7personal to Oracle 8i

Hi
I work on oracle 7 personal on win95 from 4 years ago now I install
oracle 8i Enterprise Edition but I find it completely different but
the must important think I missed is (Start Database) (Stop Database)
because usually we was running the database before start using Dev2000
or SQL Any help please
