oracle suck all cpu source and nothing come out

hi, I am testing Oracle8i in my redhat7.0 computer. I have a problem , when I set ORACLE_SID ORACLE_HOME then start svrmgrl to create database then connect as internal , once I enter " startup nomount pfile=/home/orahome/dbs/init.ora" . the oracle process will suck 99% cpu source , but nothing come out. my PC is celeron 366, mem is 256M. anybody here encounter this case? please give me a hand. thank you .
