 Hi,

We have some problems with Forms version 4.5 when we run it in  Unix environment. Anyone can help me?

BACKGROUND INFO:  · We have an Oracle8 v. 8.0.4.0.0 database mounted  on a Alpha 4100 running O.S. OSF1 v.4.0D 878.  · We developed some applications under Windows 95 using  Forms Builder v. 4.5.6.5.5. This applications were  designed to run in terminal (character) mode on the UNIX machine,  · so we used Forms Generator v. 4.5.10.6.0 to build the  executables and ran them using Forms Runform v. 4.5.10.6.0.

PROBLEM:  In some cases when making an explicit INSERT into a database  table, the data written in some columns gets corrupted.  For instance if the value to be written into the column  is "ABC12345-1", the value that's actually saved is "ABC 1".

When using the very same application, but generated with  the Windows Forms Builder v. 4.5.6.5.5 and ran with  Forms Runtime 4.5.6.5.5 this problem doesn't happen.

 PLATFORM:

  1. UNIX ENVIRONMENT: · Alpha 4100 running Digital UNIX OSF1 version 4.0D 878 · Oracle8 Server 8.0.4.0.0 · Forms 4.5 (Runform) version 4.5.10.6.0 · Forms 4.5 (Generator) version 4.5.10.6.0
  2. WINDOWS ENVIRONMENT: · Pentium PC running Windows NT Workstation or Windows 95. · Forms Builder 4.5.6.5.5 · Forms Runtime 4.5.6.5.5

Any help would be very apreciated.

 Best regards,
