Hi Jim,

Assuming that you wish to stay in the Unix world all that you have to know is that Oracle accounts for over 50% of the worldwide RDBMS market. Some will tell you that Oracle sucks or that X is far superior. It doesn't matter because over $1 out of every $2 dollars in the RDBMS world is spent on Oracle -- more that on all other RDBMS products combined.

Since your objective is gaining and maintaining full employment and receiving good compensation go with Oracle.
