I think the problem originates from your Oracle DBAs setting a timer function that disconnects inactive connections to the Oracle DB. At my location this function is set at 10 minutes. I avoid the problem by using a timer function on a logon screen that never is closed except to exit the application. I use the timer function (set at 8 min.) to run a simple SQl select from the Oracle DB. Received on Thu Sep 17 1998 - 00:00:00 CEST
