edit/create control files?

I'm running Oracle 6 on VAX/VMS. I want to move my database instance files to another device. I see that there are hardcoded device names in the database control file(s).

I'm running Oracle 6 on VAX/VMS. I want to move my database instance files to another device. I see that there are hardcoded device names in the database control file(s).
Is there any way to edit and/or recreate instance control files? Short of creating a brand-new instance and importing all the data...which would take a while.
