unfortunately, i don't know enough about TNlistener (which seems to be the rampant issue)

perhaps SQLserver has some sort of port conflict with oracle (i would never expect MS to do that)

have you tried using a different port for your database (i'm assuming TCP/IP), or any other monitoring of the the listener to see what is causing it to run rampant (my gut tells me that you've a forkbombinb like situation in hand, but...)
