Hi Randal,

we did benchmarking on several platforms (IBM, SGI) with several sizes of SGA. We found that a smaller SGA performed -better- ! A reason may be that OS-filsystem-cache works more efficient than Oracle-caching.
Maybe you should check if smaller SGA performs better too and works around your problem ?
