Oracle Bandwidth needed for WAN connections

I am looking for figures regarding the bandwidth oracle applications running across a wan need. Oracle says it's 10 Kbit/sec, but I doubt that's fast enough. But I would like to hear from anyone who's done some testing or can tell me what he's found to be the lowest workable bandwidth when running an oracle application (say oracle financials) connecting to an oracle database across a wan.
