At the recent IOUW conference in Dallas, in a keynote speech, Ken Jacobs, Oracle VP and Oracle8 proj. manager, said that OCI was alive and well and was being enhanced for Oracle8 (object use, client side caching of data, etc). He made a specific point of mentioning OCI.
