Because Bill already had the #2 personal finance software. So, buying up #1 would have given him a monopoly.

Since he doesn't have a "real" database system of any kind, buying up Informix would give him an entree into that arena.

Now his only problem will be getting Informix to run on NT Server and developing a Visual version and developing a language to go with it: SQL Basic.   Received on Sun May 04 1997 - 00:00:00 CEST
