Absolutely in the mainframe environment.

In the unix environment however, i believe the product would be useful. But i have been told by unix sysops and dba's that such a product as syncsort does not exist in the unix environment. A claim i know to be untrue but they need to do some marketting.

A good deal of the work needed to build a warehouse can be accomplished using syncsort's merge and sort capabilities.
