why sqlplus always looks home directory

This looks like a silly question. But I do need answer for it.
After we move oracle to Sun solaris 2.4 and found that if you run any sql script from sql*plus, it always tries to go to your home directory to find that script, instead of looking current directory.
Would anyone tell me which file(s) needs to be modified in order to let sql*plus look current directory?
