Hi,

I am having problems installing Oracle 7.3.2.3 on a DEC-Alpha running DEC-UNIX 3.2g. When I try to start svrmgrl, the programs shows the following output and exits:

Oracle Server Manager Release 2.3.2.0.0 - Production

Copyright (c) Oracle Corporation 1994, 1995. All rights reserved.

Moreover a core dump is generated in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs:

> file $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/core

/usr/oracle/app/oracle/product/7.3.2/dbs/core: core dump, generated from 'oracle'

So I tried to start oracle by hand

> oracle

sendsig: can't grow stack, pid 19647, proc oracle, sig 11, pc 0x1209c9268 Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Does anyone know what the problem might be? The funny thing is that things did not look like that all time. The program did work properly. Then I exit as user oracle, logged in as user oracle (maybe 5 secs later) again and found the problem described above.

Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks,
