Designer/2000 is a case tool for modeling processes and database design. Developer/2000 is a development(programming) environment.

Designer/2000 can help generate code to give you a an advantage.

If it's so simple, why bother with a case tool ? I work for a manufacturing company and manufacturing systems are very complex.
