ORACLE Developer/2000 questions?

Is there a separate group for ORACLE Developer/2000 questions? I have to install this in the next few days and the main thing I DON'T want to do is to destroy my database. I intend to install it on the same serevr as the DATABASE SERVER is, but in a separate ORACLE_HOME. The ICG says this is OK. Did anybody actually do it this way? Any problems?
